CPAs to share time and expertise during October events

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants is participating in several events during October to support financial literacy.

We will be hosting free Financial Fitness fairs and Money Brunch seminars with our CPAs and partners offering a round-table of introductory financial education sessions and one-on-one financial consultations for young adults, college students, families, individuals, small business owners and seniors.

Are you interested in the following topics? Basic taxes for individuals, budgeting, money management, understanding credit; starting a small business, making college affordable, real estate basics (buying a house), Investing 101 (how compound interest works, what's the difference between a stock and bond; a 401K and a pension), and estate planning?

In addition, we'll also be offering free one-on-one 15 minute private consultations to answer questions from attendees.

The dates In the NYC metro area are:

  • October 3 - Molloy College on Long Island from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • October 19 - SCORE – Small Business Seminar, Downtown Manhattan from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.
  • October 23 - NYPL Science and Business Library, Midtown Manhattan from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
  • October 24 - Eagle Academy Bronx from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
  • October 31 - Brooklyn Money Brunch location TBD
